Alice’s Adventures in Instagram Part 1 of 2

Alice’s Adventures in Instagram

I don’t think that it is a secret that I’m a book nerd. So when an #AloInWonderland challenge popped up, and was hosted by some friends of mine, I knew that I had to join.

This is really the first time I’ve edited photos other than throwing one of the preset color enhancing filters on a photo if the lighting wasn’t great. So I really enjoyed getting creative with these. I will definitely be doing some fun edits again in the future. Though not everyday. I am not “good” at editing, but wow did that take waaaay more time than I thought it would!

Falling down the rabbit hole into Wonderland

Day 1: Absolem (not from the book, but I love the name) is a caterpillar who is quite sure of himself. Heโ€™s three inches tall and thatโ€™s a very good height to be. He advises Alice to not lose her temper when she is frustrated. (Though he is definitely contributing to her frustration) And when she says that when he changes from a caterpillar into a butterfly, ๐Ÿฆ‹ maybe it will be an odd day for him- changing sizes like that. โ€œNot a bit,โ€ he coolly replies.

May we all roll with the punches life throws at us a bit more like him. ๐Ÿ› Though maybe with a bit more patience for others? ๐Ÿ˜†

Helping out my rabbit friend

Day 2: Growing up in Arizona where there really weren’t seasons, I find spring to be especially magical. I check every day to see how the blossoms are progressing and the new leaves are sprouting soon after. I couldn’t resist getting in a picture of the apple blossoms.

I’ve got my shoes on to try to keep up with my rabbit friend. Heโ€™s always running late. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ just had to stop to grab his pocket watch. ๐Ÿงญ And… my photoshop skills leave something to be desired, but, it will do. ๐Ÿ˜… The apple tree hit me in the face trying to get this shot. ๐Ÿฅด ๐Ÿ

๐ŸŽฎ ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป If you are into digital games, Down the Rabbit Hole ๐Ÿ‡ ๐Ÿ•ณ is a visually beautiful puzzle game. (Kid appropriate, pretty short, and no Alice knowledge necessary)

Do you think the Queen will notice?

Day 3: โ€œOff with her head!โ€ Thought this was a fitting pose for day 3 of #AloInWonderland As you can see if you swipe, these flowers were pink. Completely unacceptable to the Queen of Hearts. So her card โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฃ๏ธโ™ฆ๏ธโ™ ๏ธ soldiers painted them red. ๐Ÿฅ€

Lewis Carroll describes the queen of hearts, โ€œI pictured to myself the Queen of Hearts as a sort of embodiment of ungovernable passion โ€“ a blind and aimless Fury.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜… maybe it is better to avoid her altogether.

Restorative pose

Day 4: The King of Hearts seems to be a bit more even tempered than the Queen. He frequently pardons those who have been sentenced to beheading. Though he is still quite juvenile and with a very short attention span. Who stole the tarts? ๐Ÿง #AloInWonderland

If you are an audiobook fan, ๐ŸŽง ๐Ÿ“– I highly recommend the Scarlet Johannson reading of Aliceโ€™s Adventures in Wonderland. She is an incredible voice actor and brings the story to life in such an engaging way!

Check back for part two and the rest of the photos from this fun challenge.
